I'm using my personal domain .dev to refer to my website on github.io, and to my blogger blog. According to what I understood, it's not necessary to have the SSL certificate to have the HTTPs access to those websites, but my certificate was renewed recently. As I don't need it during this period, I'm looking for a way to freeze, so that I can use it in the future ?

HTTPS connections require SSL certificates, but it may be that your host is already providing it. If that is the case you could contact support for a refund if it was a recent transaction.
