Hi GoDaddy community,
we have multiple Nameservers set up in our DNS management within GoDaddy > Domain Account.
Nameservers total is 6:
- 2x for running our website, cPanel, WHM, etc.
- 2x for pointing to an external microsite on WIX (website builder & hosting)
--- WIX NS was necessary as otherwise we were not able to point to their NS + Web IP from WHM panel
- 2x for cloudflare
All the above additionally managed within WHM DNS Configuration.
Currently facing issues as cloudflare partners are requesting removal of all Domains except cloudflare, other than that we encountered no problems.
Believe current setup is not best practice anyway, looking forward to optimization suggestions from someone more capable.
Thanks v much in advance.
Hi @WebbyTrends, thanks for posting.
Generally you will only want to use one set of nameservers per domain name. Using multiple sets of nameservers on the same domain name will cause errors and cause the domain name to resolve intermittently.
I suggest reviewing your domain configurations and shifting all necessary DNS configurations to one set of nameservers.
issue we encountered is that we were unable to create a / c records with a new host.
As the host field would automatically append server.xxdomainnamexx.com.
Any suggestions on this?
It sounds like you are in the spot to create new nameservers, not managing DNS settings.
Also keep in mind that if your domain name is not using GoDaddy nameservers, you cannot manage DNS settings through GoDaddy.
