    Testing new VPS

I'm in the process of setting up a VPS  for domains currently on a Godaddy shared server.  I've used cpanel/whm to set up my individual domains and uploaded my content.  Everything is in /home:  /home/user1, /home/user2, etc, and the individual user structures seem to be ok, each has its public_html/www directory and the other default directories.

When I try to connect via browser by IP address I get relocated to a page:

    my.server.ip/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

SORRY!  If you are the owner of this website, please contact your hosting provider: webmaster@my.server.ip

I've tried adding /home/user/ and /home/user/www to the ip, but then I get a 404.  What have I missed in setting up httpd?

Edit: sorted out.   It turns out the VPS can't be reached via browser->ip address in its current state.  I have to point to my domain via an entry in my hosts file for testing, i.e.

    my.ip.address  mydomain.com
