    Error when backing up database using Site Backup in cPanel

    I am getting a connection error when trying to connect the cPanel Site Backup to a mysql database for nightly backups.

    Error: Connection Failed:Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

    Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

    Do you have a shared hosting account or vps? 

     

    Review the database connections to make sure the backup system has the right credentials. Also make sure you have whitelisted any necessary ip address's which could be getting blocked.
