About VAT in Turkey

In January 2018, Turkey revised its VAT policy (as explained in 7061 sayılı Bazı Vergi Kanunları ile Diğer Bazı Kanunlarda Değişiklik Yapılmasına Dair Kanun). All companies providing e-services to Turkish customers, including GoDaddy, are required by law to charge the VAT rate of 18% on purchases made after 1 February 2018. Here's how this change affects your GoDaddy purchases.

VAT is added to purchases made by customers in Turkey

Purchases made by customers with a Turkish billing address are subject to the 18% VAT charge, which is added to your total receipt amount upon checkout. VAT is added to all transactions made after 1 February 2018, including product renewals. No other fees are charged for these purchases.

Businesses qualify for an exemption

If you are a business customer, you qualify for exemption from the VAT charge. All you need to do is add your VAT ID to each payment method in your account. The VAT amount is automatically deducted from your future purchases.

Note: You may not use your personal e-Devlet Tax ID. Only businesses qualify for the VAT exemption. Individuals are required to pay VAT on purchases and are not exempt.

VAT is listed separately in invoices

For tax claim purposes, all VAT charges are listed separately on purchase invoices under the heading Vergi or Vergiler.
