Fix image thumbnails not displaying

Sometimes, WordPress cannot display the thumbnails of previously uploaded images after configuration changes. To fix this issue, you can use a third-party plugin, like the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

Regenerate all thumbnails for your site

  1. Sign in to WordPress.
  2. Install and activate the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.
  3. On the left-side menu, select Tools and then Regenerate Thumbnails.
  4. (Optional) Select or clear checkboxes next to available options if you want to make adjustments to the default setup.
  5. Here you can choose which thumbnails to regenerate:
    • To regenerate all thumbnails, select Regenerate Thumbnails For All X Attachments, where X is the actual number of attachments.
    • To regenerate only thumbnails for all your featured images, select Regenerate Thumbnails For The X Featured Images Only, where X is the actual number of featured images.

After the process is complete, you should see the All done message.
